Course Objectives:
The four and half day course is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn critical supervisory leadership skills in the context of a changing environment. Through the use of various case studies and exercises, participants will discuss supervisory issues and challenges faced in assessing what are the danger signs in a “troubled” bank, how reliable are prudential returns as an indicator of a banks safety and soundness, how to judge and decide on forbearance versus early intervention, crucial elements of a rehabilitation exercise and the optimum institutional framework for intervention in a troubled” bank, how to tell whether a bank is systemic?
Target Audience: Mid to senior-level officials from central banks and finance ministries and other key stakeholders that have responsibilities in safeguarding the stability of the financial system.
